SCALLOPED CABBAGE 
1 head cabbage
3 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. flour
1 c. milk
1 tbsp. sugar
1 c. cheese
Salt & pepper

In 1 cup water. Boil cabbage for 5 minutes with salt. Drain. Set aside. In saucepan melt 3 tablespoons butter. Add 2 tablespoons flour and cook, stirring for 3 minutes. Remove from heat. Slowly add 1 cup milk. Blend in 1 tablespoon sugar, salt and pepper. Simmer 5 minutes more stirring.

In buttered baking dish, layer cabbage leaves. Pour flour/milk mixture and top with 1 cup grated cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.
