SAUERKRAUT AND APPLES 
1/4 c. peanut oil
1/2 c. sliced onions
3 lg. cooking apples, chopped (about 4 c.)
1 (1 lb.) can sauerkraut
1/4 c. water
1 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. caraway seed
1/2 tsp. salt

Heat oil in large saucepan over low heat. Add onion and saute until tender. Stir in apples, sauerkraut, water, sugar, caraway seed and salt. Bring to a boil. Cover and simmer 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Makes 6 to 8 servings.
