SAUERKRAUT WITH APPLES 
2 slices bacon, fried - save 2 tbsp. drippings to saute onion in
3 apples, peeled, cored and quartered
Pinch salt
1 onion, sliced
2 lbs. sauerkraut
1 tsp. caraway seed
2 raw potatoes, grated
Brown sugar

Saute onion in drippings. Add sauerkraut. Cook 5 minutes. Add remaining ingredients and cover with soup stock or water soup stock. Best cook slowly 30 minutes or longer if needed. Sweeten to taste with brown sugar. Very delicious.
