CATHY'S PICKLED BEETS | |
1/2 bushel beets, remove tops 1 gal. white vinegar 8 c. sugar Sm. amount allspice Cook beets 45 minutes to 1 hour or until soft. Peel and slice. Heat 1 gallon white vinegar, sugar and allspice until sugar is dissolved. Add beets and let come to a boil. Boil for 1 to 2 minutes. Put in sterilized jars. |
