SAUSAGE STRATA 
1 lb. bulk sausage
Whole wheat bread slices
2 c. grated cheese, mild
5 eggs
1 pt. half & half
Pepper
Optional 1 tbsp. onion flakes

Fry sausage and drain well. Remove crust from bread. Line shallow 9 x 9 inch baking dish with decrusted bread. Sprinkle sausage, then cheese. Beat together eggs and half & half; pour slowly into casserole. Sprinkle desired amount of pepper.

Cover casserole and refrigerate overnight or at least 4 hours. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bake uncovered 45 minutes or until firm in middle. Variation: Use chopped precooked ham and Cheddar cheese. Use sausage and Swiss cheese.
