NAVY BEAN SOUP 
2 lbs. dry navy beans
1 med. onion, chopped
2 whole celery stalks
1 bottle 7-Up
1 ham bone or ham hocks

Soak beans overnight in water with 1 tablespoon baking soda. Next morning, drain and wash good. Combine beans, salt, pepper, onion, ham and celery in large pot. Cover with plenty of water. When mixture is boiling good add 7-Up. Cook until beans are done. Remove celery stalks before serving.
