ANGEL FLAKE CAKE | |
1 box white cake mix 1 stick butter, soft 1/2 tsp. baking soda, dissolved in buttermilk 1 c. flaked coconut 3 eggs, separated 1 c. buttermilk 1 tsp. vanilla Mix cake mix, egg yolks, butter, buttermilk, soda, vanilla and coconut with electric mixer. Fold in coconut, then stiffly beaten egg whites. Bake in 3 (9 inch) cake pans, greased and floured, for 20 minutes at 350 degrees. Frost with cream cheese frosting. CREAM CHEESE FROSTING: 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese 1 (1 lb.) box powdered sugar 1 stick butter, soft 1 tsp. vanilla 1/2 c. pecans Combine all ingredients and frost cake. |
