STUFFED MUSHROOMS | |
40 mushrooms, cleaned, remove stem & save 1 lb. crab meat 1 lg. onion, finely chopped 5 pieces of toast (torn into very sm. pieces) 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese 1 tsp. garlic powder 1 tbsp. black pepper Red pepper Parmesan cheese Butter Place the following ingredients in food processor and finely chop, mushroom stems and crab meat (you can chop onions too but I prefer to chop them by hand). Place in large bowl. Add bread crumbs, cream cheese, garlic powder and pepper; mix well. Put heaping spoonfuls of mixture into the mushroom. Sprinkle top with red pepper and Parmesan cheese. Coat bottom of baking pan with butter. Place mushrooms approximately 1/2 inch apart. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until golden brown on top. Oven temperatures vary so check these often so the bottom of the mushroom does not burn. Serve hot - but they are real good cold. |
