SAUSAGE AND BLACK EYED PEAS 
1 lb. whole hog sausage

Chop up some onion and celery and add. Cook slow in large pot. Then add 2 tablespoons sugar, 2 1/2 tablespoons chili powder, 2 tablespoons garlic salt and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper. Soak 1 pound black eyed peas overnight and drain.

Mix with above mixture. Add 16 ounce can tomatoes, 1 1/2 cups hot water. Cook 1 1/2 hours.
