1 c. oil 1 1/2 c. sugar 3 eggs 2 c. plain flour 1 c. nuts 1 tsp. vanilla 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. cloves 1 tsp. nutmeg 1 c. figs 1/2 tsp. salt 1 c. buttermilk 1 tsp. baking soda Sift dry ingredients together; add eggs, oil, milk, figs and nuts. Mix well. Bake in oblong pan at 325 degrees for 45 minutes. GLAZE: 1 c. sugar 1 stick butter 1 tbsp. Karo 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1/2 c. buttermilk 1 tsp. vanilla Boil 3 minutes; pour over hot cake. |
