2 c. dark rum or brandy
3 c. packed brown sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
4 tbsp. corn syrup
6 c. walnut halves

Mix and boil to 240 degrees, soft ball stage. Remove and add walnuts, spread on wax paper. Let stand overnight.
