1/2 lb. butter 1 c. sugar 2 egg yolks 2 c. flour 1 c. chopped walnuts 1/2 c. strawberry jam Cream butter until soft. Gradually add sugar, creaming until light and fluffy. Add egg yolks, blend well. Gradually add flour, mixing well. Fold in chopped nuts. Spoon half the batter into a greased 8 inch pan. Spread evenly. Top with jam, cover with remaining dough. Bake 325 degrees for 1 hour or until browned. Cool, cut in 1x2 inch bars. Yield: 2 1/2 dozen. |
