STRING BEAN CASSEROLE | |
1 lg. bag frozen French style green beans (or 2 boxes) 2 tbsp. flour 3 tbsp. butter 1/4 tsp. black pepper 1 tsp. sugar 1 tsp. onion, minced 1 c. sour cream 5 oz. Cheddar cheese, grated 1/2 c. cornflakes, crushed Mix 2 tablespoons butter and 2 tablespoons flour, and cook gently. Remove from heat. Add seasonings and sour cream. Fold in green beans (already cooked). Place in a 2-quart casserole dish. Spread with Cheddar cheese. Mash cornflakes with remaining tablespoons of butter; spread over beans. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Double recipe for a 9 x 13-inch pan. |
