CRANBERRY BREAD 
1 egg, beaten
2 tbsp. melted shortening or butter
1/2 c. orange juice
2 tbsp. hot water
2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. whole cranberries
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. In medium bowl beat egg, melted shortening, orange juice and water. Sift flour, sugar, salt, baking powder and baking soda. Stir until ingredients are moistened. Stir in cranberries and nuts. Pour into greased and floured 9"x5"x3" loaf pan. Bake 1 hour and 10 minutes or until pick inserted in center comes out clean. Store in refrigerator overnight before slicing or freeze. Makes one loaf.
