1 1/2 cans condensed milk 1 1/2 cans evaporated milk 9 egg yolks 2 whipped egg whites 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract 1/4 tsp. salt CARAMEL: 1 c. sugar 2 tbsp. water Place sugar and water in a 6 cup gelatin mold. Cook over medium heat until sugar is golden brown. Swirl caramel around to cover entire mold. Mix ingredients in saucepan (condensed and evaporated milks, egg yolks and whites, vanilla extract and salt). Once caramel is cool, pour mixture in mold. Cover mold with wax paper and put in large pan with water. Put the large pan over high heat and cook flan in boiling water for 1 1/4 hours. Wait until totally cool and then turn onto serving plates. |
