NO FAIL MERINGUE FOR CREAM PIE 
2 tbsp. sugar
1 tbsp. cornstarch
1/2 c. water
3 egg whites
1/2 tsp. vanilla
6 tbsp. sugar

Combine the 2 tablespoons of sugar, cornstarch and water and cook until clear and cool. Beat the egg whites, vanilla and 6 tablespoons of sugar until stiff. Then beat in the cooked, cooled mixture. This will not form stiff peaks. Put on the cream pie and bake in a 400 degree oven about 10 minutes until golden brown. This meringue will not weep.
