FRIED COUNTRY HAM 
Ham slices, as needed
Milk or water

Slice ham 3/8 of an inch thick. Soak in milk or water 30 minutes. Put ham in heavy frying pan and cover with water, simmer until water is gone. Brown lightly on both sides. To make red eye gravy, add a water to pan drippings and simmer three minutes. Spoon gravy over hot biscuits or grits.
