CLAM CHOWDER 
4 slices bacon
1/2 c. butter
2/3 c. chopped onion
15 oz. minced clams
2 cans cream of chicken soup
2 2/3 c lite cream
6 med. potatoes, diced and cooked
1 tsp. salt
Pepper to taste

Fry bacon until crisp. Drain and chop. Saute onions in the butter. Drain clams, reserve syrup. Add syrup from clams to onions. Mix in soup, cream, salt, pepper and potatoes. Bring to a boil, stirring all the time. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes. Add clams and reheat. Sprinkle on bacon bits and serve.
