SCALLOPED RAISINS WITH APPLES 
1 c. raisins
1/2 c. brown sugar
4 c. pared, quartered apples
1/4 c. water
1 tbsp. butter
1/2 c. soft bread crumbs
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. cloves
2 tbsp. lemon juice

Fill buttered baking dish with alternate layers of raisins, apples and bread crumbs. Sprinkle each layer with combined dry ingredients. Dot with butter. Add lemon juice and water. Cover. Bake in moderate oven (375 degrees) for 45 minutes. 8 servings.
