2 pkgs. yeast 1/2 c. warm water 2 tsp. sugar 2 c. scalded & cooled milk 2/3 c. sugar 2/3 c. melted butter 4 eggs, well beaten 2 tsp. salt 8 c. flour Make a sponge as follows, soften yeast in water and sugar, add the milk and 2 cups of the flour. Beat well. Let dough stand, when light, add the 2/3 cup sugar, butter and eggs, then the salt and enough remaining flour to knead a few minutes. Let rise until double, punch down and roll out and shape into a square very thin. Cut into 4" squares and put 1 teaspoon filling in each. Draw opposite corners together and fold over. Place in greased pan and let rise some. Bake at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes or until lightly browned. Can use canned pie fillings or make your own favorite one. |
