1/2 c. cream 2 eggs 1 tsp. vanilla 1 cake yeast 1/2 c. warm water 1/2 tsp. sugar 1 c. milk 3/4 c. sugar 3 tbsp. shortening 3 or 4 c. flour 3/4 tsp. salt Mix first 3 ingredients and heat to lukewarm. Dissolve yeast in warm water and add 1/2 teaspoon sugar; set aside. Mix milk, 3/4 cup sugar, shortening, flour, and salt. Mix all ingredients together to make a soft dough. Use a spoon to mix; let rise once. Shape into small balls and put on greased cookie sheet. Let rise again. Put in filling by making a dent in middle with fingers. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes. PRUNE FILLING: Cook 1 pound prunes until tender. Cool and pit. Chop and stir well. Add a little sugar. |
