BOILED RAISIN CAKE 
1 c. raisins
1/2 c. shortening
1/4 tsp. allspice
2 eggs, beaten
2 c. flour
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. baking soda

Boil the raisins in water for 10 minutes. Drain and cool, saving 1 cup of the liquid. Mix together the other ingredients; then add the raisins and the liquid. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes.
