TURKEY THROUGH THE NIGHT | |
1 (15-20 lb.) turkey Salt & pepper to taste 1/2 c. melted butter Dressing, optional Season cavity with salt and pepper. Rub outside of turkey with butter. Place turkey in heavy foil lined roaster. Cover securely with foil. Bake at 200 degrees for 8-10 hours. Fold back foil. Increase over to 300 degrees. Brown for 25 minutes. Slit foil in several places to let juices drain into roaster. I use the fat and juices to make my dressing. I usually put this on before I go to bed the night before I plan to serve it, when I wake it's done. This frees my oven for other holiday baking. |
