LEMON LOAF BREAD 
3/4 stick butter
1 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2 eggs
1/2 c. milk
Grated rind of 1 lemon (save lemon for juice)
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Cream together butter and sugar. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Add eggs to the creamed butter and sugar. Add milk alternately with flour mixture. Combine well. Add lemon rind and nuts.

Bake in greased loaf pan for 1 hour at 350 degrees. Cool in pan for 10 minutes. Pour over the loaf the following: juice of 1 lemon and 1/3 cup sugar combined together. Let stand for 1/2 hour before removing from pan. (You may make 2 smaller loaves.)
