PORCUPINE MEATBALLS 
1 lb. ground beef
1/2 c. uncooked rice
1/2 c. water
1/3 c. chopped onions
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/8 tsp. black pepper
2 tbsp. shortening
1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 1/2 c. water
2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce

Mix beef, rice, 1/2 cup water, onion, salt, garlic and pepper. Shape mixture into balls. Melt shortening in large skillet; brown on all sides, then drain fat. Stir together remaining ingredients. Pour over meatballs. Reduce heat and simmer 45 minutes. If necessary, add 1 or 2 tablespoons water during cooking. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
