CHOCOLATE CHIP CAKE 
FILLING:

1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
1/3 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate bits

CAKE:

2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. butter, softened
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. sour cream
Confectioners' sugar (optional)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour 10 inch tube pan; set aside. In medium bowl, mix together cream cheese, sugar, egg and vanilla until well blended and almost smooth. Stir in chocolate bits; set aside.

Prepare cake batter by sifting together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.

In large electric bowl mixer, cream cutter and sugar until light. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in vanilla. Gradually add dry ingredients, and everything else, mixing just until blended.

Spoon half the batter into pan, spread evenly, layer cream cheese filling, spread evenly, layer remainder half of batter on top, spreading evenly. Bake one hour or until cake pulls away from sides of pan. Cool in pan 10 minutes and remove. Sprinkle with confectioners' sugar.
