LENTIL SOUP 
1 c. lentils
6 c. water or stock
1 tsp. salt
1 stalk celery
3 carrots
2 onions
2 tbsp. oil (you can use 1 tbsp.)
2 tbsp. sesame seeds
Sm. amount of diced ham for flavor (optional)

Rinse lentils in cold water. Place stock, salt, and lentils in pot and heat. Bring just to boiling; lower heat, cover, and simmer 1/2 hour. Meanwhile, wash and slice vegetables. Heat oil and stir fry vegetables and seeds 5 to 7 minutes. Add to lentils along with ham. Simmer 15 minutes and serve.
