3/4 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. white sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs

Mix above ingredients together and combine with: 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon 1 1/2 tsp. ground cloves 1 1/2 c. raisins, added with a small portion of the flour

At the end add 1 1/2 cup hot applesauce and fold in until all the mixture is moistened. Bake in a 9 x 14 inch pan 35-45 minutes at 350 degrees until a toothpick test is clean.

1 c. white sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
2 tbsp. butter
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
1/3 c. cream
