NO FROST CHOCOLATE CHIP CAKE | |
1 c. white sugar 1 c. shortening 2 c. flour 1 tbsp. vanilla 2 eggs 1 tbsp. cocoa 1/2 tbsp. salt 1 c. chopped dates 1 c. plus 3 tbsp. hot water 1 tsp. baking soda 1 c. chocolate chips 1/2 c. chopped nuts Add soda to dates and pour hot water over them. Cream sugar and shortening. Add flour, vanilla, eggs, dates, salt and cocoa; beat well. Add 1/2 cup chocolate chips. Pour into greased and floured 9x13 pan. Sprinkle remaining 1/2 cup chocolate chips and nuts on top and bake in 350 degree oven for 40 minutes. |
