SCALLOPED POTATOES 
1 1/2 c. milk
1 potato per person, peeled and sliced thin
1/2 stick butter, cut into small pieces (2 oz.)
1/4 c. onion, chopped
1 or 2 tbsp. flour
Cheddar cheese, cut into pieces
Salt and pepper, to taste

Put a layer of potatoes in bottom of buttered casserole dish, sprinkle with flour, salt and pepper, and a few pieces of cheese. Put another layer of sliced potatoes in the dish and sprinkle with flour, salt and pepper and chopped onions. Alternate layers in this manner until all potatoes are used up. Pour milk over all. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes or until potatoes are well done.
