CARAMEL ICING 
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. dark brown sugar, firmly packed
Dash salt
3 tbsp. evaporated milk
1 1/2 c. confectioners' sugar

Melt butter in saucepan. Add brown sugar, salt and milk and mix well. Cook for 2 minutes over low heat, stirring constantly until mixture boils. Remove from heat and cool 10 minutes. Gradually add confectioners' sugar, beating until icing reaches a spreading consistency. Spread on cool cake.
