PRUNE BREAD | |
2 cups sifted flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 cup dry powdered milk 1 tsp. ground cinnamon 1/2 tsp. ground allspice 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg 2/3 cup sugar 1/3 cup soft shortening or butter 2 large eggs 3/4 cup prune juice 1 cup drained chopped prunes 1/2 cup chopped nuts Sift first 8 dry ingredients together twice; set aside. Combine sugar, shortening, eggs; add juice and prunes. Blend in dry ingredients. Add 1/2 cup nuts. Let stand 20 minutes. Bake in two well greased small loaf pans in medium (350°F) oven for 35 minutes or until done. Submitted by: Cecelia Walter |
