AUNT LOUISE CARROLL'S JAM CAKE 
2 1/2 c. sugar
2 sticks butter
5 lg. eggs
3 c. cake flour, plus 2 tbsp.
2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. blackberry jam
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. allspice
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. sweet milk

Cream butter and sugar. Add jam to which spices have been added. Add 3 cups flour, milk and eggs, alternately. Put baking powder into the 2 tablespoons flour. Add at last, folding lightly.

Put in 3 greased cake pans and bake at 325 to 350 degrees until done. Frost with Caramel Icing.
