CHOCOLATE DEVIL'S FOOD CAKE 
1 1/2 c. boiling water
3/4 c. cocoa
1 1/2 c. milk
2 tbsp. vinegar
3 c. sugar
1 c. (2 sticks) + 2 tbsp. butter
3 eggs
3 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
2 tsp. salt
3 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. vanilla

Have boiling water and cocoa dissolved. Mix milk with vinegar (to make sour milk) and set both aside.

Mix sugar and butter, then add eggs. Sift flour, salt and baking soda. Add to sugar mixture alternating with 1 1/2 cups sour milk. Add vanilla. Last add cocoa mixture. Beat well.

Pour into greased and floured tube pan. Bake at 350°F for 1 hour 15 minutes.
