BETTY'S HOMEMADE FRENCH TOAST 
2 eggs
1/2 cup heavy whipping cream or Carnation evaporated milk
1 tsp. vanilla (real is best for recipe)
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
4 slices of bread

Combine all ingredients except bread in flat bowl then beat. Heat iron griddle or non-stick skillet to medium-high. Dip the bread slices, one at a time, until saturated on both sides. Place slices of bread two at a time on griddle and cook until tan on both sides.

While the bread is cooking place 2 tablespoons of butter into a bowl of syrup. When cooking is complete place toast on plate and pour the butter and syrup mixture over the French toast.

Variation: Add powdered sugar, nuts, or fresh fruit as garnish and extra flavor.
