ITALIAN ICE 
2 c. water
1 1/4 c. granulated sugar
1 c. orange, lemon, pineapple or cranberry juice
Maraschino cherries to garnish

Bring water and sugar to a boil in small saucepan. Stir until the sugar is dissolved. Boil for 5 minutes, stir frequently. Cool thoroughly. Stir in juice. Pour into freezer container. Place in freezer for 4 hours. Stir occasionally until mixture is almost completely frozen. Spoon into tall glasses and garnish with maraschino cherries. Serves 4-6.
