COOKIES:

4 c. flour
2 c. sugar
1 c. Crisco
1 c. cocoa powder
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. salt
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. sour cream
1 c. hot water

Cream sugar, shortening, eggs, sour cream and vanilla. Combine flour, cocoa, and salt; add to creamed mixture. Stir soda into hot water and add to mixture. Drop by tablespoonsful onto greased cookie sheets. Bake at 400 degrees.
