BUTTERMILK BROWNIES 
1 c. butter
1 c. water
1/3 c. unsweetened cocoa powder
2 c. all-purpose flour
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 slightly beaten eggs
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Cocoa-Buttermilk Frosting

In saucepan combine butter, water and cocoa. Bring to boiling; stir constantly. Remove from heat. In large mixing bowl stir together flour, sugar, soda and salt; stir in eggs, buttermilk and vanilla. Add cocoa mixture; mix until blended.

Pour into 1 greased 15 x 10 x 1 inch baking pan or two 11 x 7 x 1 1/2 inch baking pans, or two 9 x 9 x 2 inch baking pans. Bake in 375 degree oven for 20 minutes. Immediately pour Cocoa Buttermilk Frosting over brownies; spread evenly. Cool; cut into bars. Makes 5 dozen bars.

Cocoa-Buttermilk Frosting: In saucepan mix 1/4 cup butter, 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder and 3 tablespoons buttermilk. Cook and stir to boiling; remove from heat. Beat in 2 1/4 cups sifted powdered sugar, 1/2 cup chopped walnuts and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla.
