BOURBON BALLS (OR BRANDY) | |
16 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips 6 oz. evaporated milk 3 to 4 c. crushed vanilla wafers 2 to 3 tbsp. light corn syrup 1 to 1 1/2 c. chopped pecans 1/3 to 1/2 c. bourbon or brandy In a heavy saucepan, cook over medium heat chocolate chips and milk until melted. Stir until smooth. Remove from heat. Add crushed vanilla wafers to chocolate mixture, mixing well. Add sugar, corn syrup, nuts and bourbon, mixing well. Cover and place in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes or until ready to roll. (Will keep for weeks, if you don't want to roll right away.) Shape into ball and roll in sugar, powdered sugar and chopped nuts. Keep in refrigerator until serving or if you give away, be sure to let them know that they need to be refrigerated. |
