APPLE MYSTERY DESSERT 
1 (20 oz.) can crushed pineapple
3 c. sliced baking apples
1/2 c. sugar
2 tbsp. lemon juice
1 (18 1/4 oz.) box yellow cake mix
1/2 c. melted butter
1 c. pecans, chopped

Pour pineapple into a lightly greased 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan. Gently toss together apples, 1/4 cup sugar and lemon juice and place on top of pineapple. Sprinkle fruit layers with dry cake mix and top with melted butter, 1/4 cup sugar and pecans.

After baking in a preheated 350 degree oven for 20 minutes, insert a knife into the cake to allow juices to rise to the top. Return to oven and bake an additional 30 minutes. Serve warm or cold with ice cream or whipped topping. Yield: 12 servings.
