ITALIAN CASSEROLE | |
1 1 1/2 lb. hamburger 1 1/2 c. chopped onion 1 (32 oz.) jar spaghetti sauce 1/3 c. water 1 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. basil 1 tsp. oregano 1 tsp. sugar 5 med. potatoes, sliced thin 8 oz. shredded Mozzarella cheese Brown hamburger. Add spaghetti sauce, onion, water, salt, basil, oregano, and sugar. Cook for 2 minutes more. In a 13 x 9 baking dish, evenly spoon 1/3 of the meat mixture. Arrange 1/2 of potatoes on top of meat mixture and top with 1/4 of cheese. Repeat layering, ending with meat mixture. Cover dish with foil. Bake at 375 degrees for 1 hour or until potatoes are tender. Remove foil; sprinkle with rest of cheese. Bake for 10 minutes. Let stand for 10 minutes for easier cutting. |
