CINNAMON BREAD 
1/4 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. sugar
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 c. vegetable oil
1 egg
1 c. buttermilk

Combine 1/4 cup sugar and cinnamon, set aside. Combine remaining ingredients in large bowl. Beat with electric mixer for 2 minutes. Spoon 1/3 of batter into greased 9 x 5 x 3 inch loaf pan. Sprinkle 1/2 of sugar-cinnamon mixture. Repeat procedure. Spoon remaining 1/3 of batter on top. Cut through with a knife to swirl cinnamon sugar mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 55 minutes. Cool in pan 10 minutes - turn out on rack to cool completely. Glaze if desired.
