PRUNE - APPLE CAKE 
2 c. sugar
3 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
2 c. coarsely chopped apples
1 (12 oz.) pkg. pitted prunes, coarsely chopped, cooked about 2 c.
1 c. chopped walnuts
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 1/2 c. oil
3 eggs
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. salt
Powdered sugar

Beat sugar, oil, eggs for 2 minutes with mixer at medium speed. In another bowl combine dry ingredients. Gradually mix into egg mixture. Mix in apples, prunes and nuts to blend. Spoon into prepared pan. Smooth top. Bake 1 1/2 hours (in greased and floured tube or bundt pan) at 350 degrees until cake springs up to touch and toothpick comes out clean. Cool in pan 15 minutes. Then invert onto rack to finish cooling. Put on serving plate. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
