CANNED APPLE PIE FILLING 
Golden Delicious apples
4 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. cornstarch
10 c. water
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
3 tbsp. lemon juice

Peel enough apples to fill 6 quart jars. Combine sugar and water in large kettle and heat.

Make a paste with cornstarch and water, add to hot syrup. Add spices and cook until thick.

Pour over apple slices. Seal jars and process in hot water bath for 20 minutes.

Yield: 6 quarts.
