TURTLE CAKE 
1 box German chocolate cake mix
1 bag caramels
3/4 c. butter
1 c. chocolate chips
1/2 c. evaporated milk
Nuts (optional)

Mix cake mix according to directions. Pour 1/2 of batter into 13 x 9 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Melt caramels, evaporated milk and butter over low heat until well blended. (Can use medium temperature in microwave.) Pour over cooled cake. Sprinkle chocolate chips and nuts on caramel mixture. Pour rest of batter on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
