BLACK WALNUT POUND CAKE | |
1 c. soft butter 1/2 c. Crisco 1 c. sugar 2 c. firmly packed brown (light) sugar 5 eggs 3 c. flour 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/4 tsp. salt 1 c. Carnation milk 1 tbsp. vanilla 1 c. finely chopped black walnuts Cream butter and shortening. Gradually add sugars, beating well on medium speed. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Combine flour, baking powder and salt; add to creamed mixture. Stir in vanilla and walnuts. Pour batter into a greased and floured 10-inch tube pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 30-40 minutes. |
