GERMAN CHOCOLATE POUND CAKE | |
1 bar German's chocolate 1 c. shortening 2 tsp. vanilla 2 tsp. butternut flavoring 1/2 tsp. baking soda 2 c. sugar 4 eggs 3 c. flour 1 c. buttermilk 1 tsp. salt Partly melt chocolate over hot water. Remove and stir. Cool. Cream sugar and shortening. Add eggs, flavoring and buttermilk. Sift together flour, salt and soda; add to shortening and mix well. Blend in chocolate. Pour into a well-greased and floured 9-inch tube pan and bake at 300 degrees for 1 1/2 hours. Remove from pan while still hot and place under tightly fitting cover until cooled. Glaze with chocolate glaze. |
