OLD FASHIONED CUT-OUT SUGAR COOKIES | |
3 c. reg. flour 2 tsp. baking powder 1 c. butter 2 eggs 1 c. sugar 1 tsp. lemon extract or grated lemon peel Sift together flour and baking powder. On low speed, cut in butter until mixture resembles cornmeal. In a separate small bowl, beat eggs, add sugar and lemon extract and beat thoroughly. Blend egg mixture into flour-butter mixture. Chill dough (at least 4 hours or overnight). On lightly floured surface, roll dough 1/8 inch thick and cut with cookie cutters. Transfer to ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 6 to 8 minutes or until lightly browned. Yield: 3 dozen cookies using regular size cookie cutters. |
