2 c. sugar
2 eggs
3 c. plain flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 1/8 c. buttermilk
3/4 c. butter
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. mashed bananas, not too mushy

Cream butter, add sugar gradually. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Sift together dry ingredients and add alternately with buttermilk. Add vanilla and bananas. Bake in 3 greased and floured pans, at 350 degrees until done.

ICING:

1/2 c. butter
3 oz. cream cheese, softened
1 box confectioners sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tbsp. milk
2/3 c. nuts, finely chopped
Pinch of salt

Cream together butter and cream cheese. Add the box of sugar, vanilla and nuts. Add more milk if needed to spread.
