BARBECUED SPARERIBS 
3 lb. country style spareribs
1 med. onion, chopped
1 tbsp. butter or bacon fat
1 tbsp. vinegar
1 tbsp. sugar
3 tbsp. lemon juice
1 c. ketchup
1/2 tbsp. prepared mustard
1/2 c. water
1/2 c. chopped celery
2 tsp. salt
Dash cayenne
1-2 tbsp. Worcestershire, if desired

1. Place ribs in a shallow baking pan and bake in 350 degree oven for 30 minutes.

2. Meanwhile, saute onion in butter or fat for 5 minutes, then add remaining ingredients; mix well and simmer 5 minutes. Pour over the spareribs and continue baking for an hour longer, basting from time to time with the sauce.

3. About 15 minutes before done, add 1 can mushroom pieces.

4. Serve with white rice using sauce as gravy. Serves 5.
